Announcement: We are Recognized by Fast Company as a “World Changing Idea!”
We are excited to announce that we were named to Fast Company’s World-Changing Ideas list! The respected annual list highlights companies pursuing innovation for the good of society, and we are proud to receive this recognition for building a new medium of political donor and community engagement for Democratic groups and causes.
“The world is becoming more and more digitally engrained, and we’ve built an NFT platform that allows Democratic-led missions and campaigns a way to create deeper community building and raise money,” explains Parker Butterworth, Front Row’s co-founder. “We are honored to receive this distinction and join the ranks of other awe-inspiring companies who push their industries forward in creating a better future.”
We created Front Row with the strong belief that NFTs will augment the future of political fundraising and voter engagement. By earning the Fast Company World Changing Idea recognition just six months after our official launch, we see it as a proof point that we are built to thrive in today’s ever-changing world.
Since launching our NFT marketplace in October 2021—under a collaboration with the Texas Democratic Party selling political digital collectibles to raise funds that supported the party’s political priorities to protect voting and abortion rights—we have garnered tremendous interest from other groups and political candidates who want to transform memorabilia into digital assets to directly support progressive causes.
Stephanie Schriock, former EMILY’s LIST President, recently joined our board of advisors because she believes in our ability to support shared objectives that move progressive movements and democratic action forward. “The team is capitalizing on the future-forward trajectory of our digital world to usher in a new realm of political fundraising,” she explains. “NFTs are a natural progression from traditional fundraising, and Front Row’s marketplace supports Democrats in their objective to bolster engagement with the next generation of voters through an emerging medium.”
Our marketplace is not only being recognized as a Fast Company World Changing Idea because of our aim to revolutionize the future of political fundraising and voter engagement but because of our differentiated approach to NFTs. In line with the ideals we support, our platform was built from the ground up with environmental consciousness in mind. When an NFT is sold on our platform, a portion of proceeds is donated to carbon sequestration projects at a carbon-negative rate. At launch, we joined an exclusive list of carbon-negative blockchain platforms and continues to explore energy-efficient alternatives that minimize our footprint.
Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas franchise is one of its most highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year, offering a glimpse into what the future of innovation looks like across industries around the world. As for the future of political fundraising and voter engagement, we believe what was once a campaign poster hanging in a dorm room to promote a movement or candidate will one day be an NFT attached to a digital avatar and displayed in shared spaces within the ‘metaverse.’
“It’s hard to say what the future will bring but we look forward to leading our industry with more innovations that will shape the future of our tech-focused world,” says Butterworth. “Being named a Fast Company World Changing Idea is significant early validation for what we’re building and we are grateful for everyone helping us achieve our mission in bridging the gap between digital ecosystems and progressive communities.”
We are honored to be included in this list, and we have exciting projects in the works. We look forward to continuing the momentum and sharing with you what we have coming next!
